Schedule

The tournament will consist of 16 (national) teams. They will be drawn at the beginning into 2 groups 8 each, such that the 2 German teams will be drawn in different groups. Within each group there will be a complete round Robin, which means 7 matches of 10 boards each. After the conclusion of the round Robin the leading teams from each group will be play a final of 3 segments of 8 boards. The team with the most VPs after round Robin will be get the choice of seating rights in one or two segments; the team with only one choice of seating rights may choose the segment in which they will have seating rights. At the same time the remaining 14 teams will play 3 more rounds of 8 boards in a swiss style. There will be no rematches with teams from their own group.
